What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the owners of the site. Similar technologies, such as your browser's built-in storage, work in much the same way.
How we use cookies
Credence Engage uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies that the site needs to work. With your consent, we also use advertising and analytics cookies to see which of our ads bring people to our event pages and how those pages are used. Nothing in the advertising and analytics group loads until you choose Accept in our cookie banner.
Cookies we use
- Essential cookies: Event pages load a checkout script from our payment provider, Paystack, which may set its own cookies to process payments securely and help prevent fraud. Paystack's own privacy and cookie policies apply to these cookies.
- Sign-in storage: If you are a member of the Credence team and sign in to manage events, your browser keeps your sign-in details in its storage (not a cookie) so you stay signed in until you log out.
- Functional cookies: For signed-in team members, a cookie named sidebar_state stores whether the dashboard menu is open or collapsed. It expires after seven days.
- Advertising cookies (only with your consent): The Meta Pixel, from Meta Platforms, sets a cookie named _fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad. Both last up to 90 days. They tell us which ads bring visitors to our event pages and whether those visitors go on to register or buy a ticket.
- Analytics cookies (only with your consent): Microsoft Clarity sets cookies named _clck (kept for one year) and _clsk (kept for one day) and records how visitors use our pages, such as clicks, scrolling and page layout. Microsoft may also set its own cookies on clarity.ms and bing.com. Registration forms, ticket pages and our team dashboard are hidden from these recordings.
- Your cookie choice: Your browser's storage (not a cookie) remembers whether you accepted or declined advertising and analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every visit.
Managing cookies
You can accept or decline advertising and analytics cookies, and change your mind at any time, with Cookie settings at the bottom of our pages. Declining stops these tools from loading on your next page view.
Most web browsers also let you control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies. Please note that if you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of this website, such as ticket payments, may become inaccessible or not function properly.
